12 || Hand in day! Getting a lot of stuff done and rendering
I'll be frank, I hadn't slept cause I was modeling and rendering this throughout the night. This is kind of timetravelling but I just had to take a nap!
You see the vehicle? I received it about a day or two ago so I kind of had to rush things a little since I also had to put it into my scene and make adjustments if needed.

Our story starts here! I received this and was given the okay to make a couple adjustments to the overall form of the vehicle.
Thankfully the vehicle was really simple! I took a cylinder (and followed the 8-side rule of course!) and made it into a kind of flower pot shape, finally detailing the top and bottom with the Bevel Edge tool (I've been addicted to using it, its a little scary) I then selected the middle faces of where I wanted the detailing and transformed it into the model. Ta dah! Simple.
For the rope I took a cube made it long and duplicated 3 instances of it. I finally got used to things and found a way to group them together easily (It was very much a struggle to group things when I was still figuring things out). I then only needed to adjust 1 side to make it look nice. Another cylinder on top to make the connector piece, this time with a hole and making use of the Bridge Tool.
Then with the mushroom, I started with a cylinder, then another cylinder and just tried my best to make an organic looking shape. To make the detailing on the cap of the mushroom, I just took a cube, scaled it to make that shape in rounded view, really wasn't much too it. Then just duplicated it all over, scaling as necessary.
I was starting to lose steam at this point, so for the 3 smaller mushrooms, I just decided to duplicate and rotate the big mushroom. It'll be pretty hard to notice if I just change around the shapes of the mini-mushroom stalks to look more organic.
And voila! A quick vehicle, got looking pretty nice with a little color! All while having an easy topology to work with.
All thats left is the rendering of the scene! This should be quick
(It took 2 hours. I had to render it 4 seperate times.
The first time didn't have the wireframe layer.
The second time had issues with framing.
The third time had issues with the eyes.)

Final thoughts
It was fun to work on this, I think we definitely should have plotted out any major changes we wanted to make with in advance but I think we did pretty well with how the model ended up turning out. We should have tried to have a clearer idea with what we wanted to do with it but unfortunately had no way to fully see the idea behind our production bible. We ended up dropping some of the earlier ideas we had, such as modeling some fern shapes on the base of our vehicle. Though we did end up adjusting the color scheme a little.
Aesthetic
All things considered, I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out. It looks a little different from the 2D final though, that was a little expected.
If I were to change anything else, I would have wanted to change the kind of mushroom that was lifting the vehicle. I think having the Entoloma hochstetteri (Its on our $50 note!) raise the vehicle would be cool. And ties in well to the patriotic to NZ vibe that the character has.
If I had the time, I would have tried to place a fern pattern to design the base of the vehicle and copied it over to the pants of the character to make them a little more cohesive with each other.
