A need for a little pivot

I asked around for some feedback on our racer. I'm looking to get a couple opinions on the thumbnails so we can get a good idea on where to take our guy.

Feedback for our Racer:

Maggie from my workshop B said that they liked the cuter silhouettes in Gale's work as well as the halo shape around the head.

Tessa from my workshop B said that they liked the use of triangles in Gale's work with the dress. Especially with how simple it seemed in comparison to the more complicated shapes in my work.  I guess thats good to know for the future, I suppose.

Reuben commented that they liked what I was trying to do with the bird motif, but noted that they liked the kind of hermes boot type of footwear that my last thumbnail seemed to allude to. They also thought the dresses looked really nice.

Chil (@justchil) mentioned that they really liked the magical girl vibe of some of the outfits, but mixing it with more practical and grounded elements could really give it that racer vibe.

Feedback for our Vehicle:

Jordan (@mrsausagerollls) liked some of the ideas on incorporating the bird motif into our vehicle but also liked the more practical look of a more traditional 'carriage' type structure

Bryn  said they liked the detail of having the front wheel be mismatched with the other wheels, bring out a real sense of contrast

Gale , my groupmate said they liked the nest element in their work and would like to see that sort of detail when we push to the next stage of our work. They would also like to stick to a more traditional shape to make things easier to model (very fair)

I, to balance out opinions with my group mate also put forward what I'd like to see us proceed with. I would like to see bird feet and wings incorporated when we push our ideas further.

Thoughts:

Looking at the feedback we received, it seems that people really liked the leaning into the fairycore aspect for the character. I like the aesthetic too but personally feel that it doesn't quite fit into the details we originally outfined for our character [an antique collector who is racing for more funds to buy antiques with]. We will need to pivot on our original idea to better follow the vision that people seemed to like more. I'll try to find a way to incorporate a bit of my old vision in a way that fits together with the direction that we're going in now.

We also like the collection of ideas we had in our thumbnails, we'll try to mix and match whatever seems to best fit to have a vehicle that treads the line between practical and fantastical.
